Abhyanga Oil Massage uses medicinal oils infused with herbs that pacify your body’s specific constitution. Developed in India and passed on to me during my time as a panchakarma therapist at the Ayurvedic Institute, this treatment calms the mind, hydrates the tissues, and increases circulation and overall well-being in the body.
Swedish Massage is the most common stye of massage in the West. Long gliding strokes and gentle kneading with the thumbs, fingers or knuckles warm the tissues and increase blood flow, preparing the area for deeper work. Rhythmic tapping, friction, and vibration energize the tissues, and bring heat and relaxation to the deeper muscles. Passive and assisted stretching are often used to assist the body in releasing tension.
Myofascial Release reintroduces viscous flow in the tissues using sustained pressure, heat, and movement to release inhibited layers of fascia and increase range of motion.
Polarity Therapy uses touch to rebalance the polarities in the body. Pressure may be light or very deep. Developed in the 1940's by Dr. Randolph stone, who asserted that energy fields and currents exists everywhere in nature -- when energy is unbalanced or blocked in the body due to stress or other factors, pain and disease arise (American Polarity Therapy Association).
Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique (SMRT) uses passive contraction, gently stimulating lymphatic flow and unwinding the connective tissues, allowing the joints of the body to realign effortlessly, re-establishing correct posture. (Dawn Lewis @ Full Circle)
Acupressure / Shiatsu Following the Traditional Chinese Medicine Yin/Yang organ meridians to rebalance the body, Shiatsu literally means "finger pressure" which may be light or very deep.
Foot Reflexology uses medium to deep pressure on specific zones of the feet. Relieving tension and improving circulation in reflexive areas of the feet promote health and natural functioning in the referred organs and glands of the body.
Aroma Therapy uses essential oils diffused into the air or in a carrier oil on the body to promote relaxation and specific healing. Essential oils are highly concentrated volatile aroma compounds extracted from plants.
Flower Essence Therapy is based on a principal that all living beings have a vibration or "essence" that is a unique energetic imprint. The essence of plants infused in a liquid may interact with the energetic body of humans, rebalancing areas of discord.
Herbal Remedies may be suggested in the form of supplements, salves, and teas, but will not be prescribed.
